The buzzing of flies serenaded your ears as they danced around a putrid body sprawled close to a dump site.

Hands gloved, you removed a lump of caked blood from the corpse's chest, revealing three stab holes. Three clean cuts that drove deep.

A draft of rotten fishy smell wafted across your nose. Faruk, your detective partner, pinched his nose, drew back, and you watched him cup a hand over his mouth and nose. "His wife killed him?" he asked in a muffled voice.

"I've always told you to be vigilant and observant," you replied with a smirk.

"As a newbie, I'm really trying my best. Am I not?"

You nodded. "Yeah, you are." Then you smiled.

"I heard everything she said to you through the phone, and she said nothing implicating."

You still felt Faruk's gaze lingering on you.

"Okay, let me solve the puzzle. Who broke the news to her first?"

"You…"

"Did I give her any direction?"

"No."

"But she said she would be here in five minutes. You now get the point, right?

Faruk's eyes widened." Oh, yeah, because it's a five-minute drive from the victim's home to the dump site."

"Now let's just wait for her."
