Mission Statement:

Fiery Scribe Review is a triannual literary magazine that amplifies the voices of those who have sealed up flames in their bones and hearts and minds. We want to read your fears, your secrets, your speculations, your strange perspectives. If it isn't fiery, it isn't for us.

As we are committed to providing a platform for underrepresented voices, we encourage submissions from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Submission Criteria:

- We are particularly interested in unpublished writings that evoke strong emotions and exhibit fiery passion.

- Submissions are welcome across all literary categories, including but not limited to poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, essays, opinions, book reviews, and experimental writing.

Our Preferences:

- Genre-bending writing.

- We love poetry & fiction that thrive on language and symbols and also explore the depths of human sensibilities.

- Thriller and speculative writings will get us excited.

- We want your personal essays.

- Profundity! Profundity!!

However, please don't be restricted by the items above. Submit to us and let us make a decision.

Guidelines:

We respond a response within 2-4 weeks.

...

1. Previously unpublished submissions should be sent via email to magazine.fieryscribereview@gmail.com with the subject line “[CATEGORY] Submission — [Title] — [Name]", e.g., Poetry Submission—God of Small Things—Roy Chika

2. In the body of the email, include a brief cover letter excluding your bio. We won't request your bio unless your work is accepted.

In the cover letter, include your work title, word count, and if possible, a one-line summary.

DON'T SEND US YOUR BIO. REMOVE ALL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION FROM YOUR SUBMISSION, INCLUDING YOUR EMAIL.

3. Attach your submission as a Word document (.doc or .docx). Your filename must include the title of your submission and the genre, e.g., Personal Essay, Memories of Liquor. (Again, we say, don't include your name.)

4. For poetry submissions, you may include up to three poems in a single document.

5. For prose submissions, please limit the word count to 4,000 words.

6. Multiple submissions are not allowed. Please wait till you have received a response before submitting another fresh piece.

7. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please inform us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

8. Please ensure that your work has been thoroughly edited and proofread before submission.

Formatting:

- Times New Roman, Arial, or Garamond, in 12-point size.

- Double-space prose submissions. Don't indent paragraphs, please.

- For poetry, follow your intended formatting, and ensure it is clear in the submission.

Response Time:

- We aim to respond to submissions within 2-4 weeks after submission. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Rights:

Upon acceptance, Fiery Scribe Review requests the following:

– first serial rights of your accepted work(s), but they revert to you one month after publication. However, should your work appear in a later publication, kindly acknowledge Fiery Scribe Review as the original place of publication.

– right to non-exclusively, electronically and digitally archive your accepted work online as long as the website remains active. The Author may republish the Work elsewhere one month after the Publisher has first used it.

Payment?

- We are, sadly, not a paying market. This might be possible in the future, however.

- Works accepted for publication will remain archived on the website.

Final Note

As we commit to providing a platform for underrepresented voices, we encourage submissions from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

We look forward to reading your fiery words and uncovering the passion that burns within your writing.
