MISSION STATEMENT:
Fiery Scribe Review is a global triannual journal glorifying unusual & thought-provoking literature. We want to read your fears, your secrets, your speculations, your strange perspectives. If it’s not fiery, it’s not for us.
As an inclusive market, we encourage submissions from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
SUBMISSION CRITERIA:
- Unpublished writing only.
- Submissions are welcome across all literary categories, including but not limited to poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, essays, opinions, book reviews, and experimental writing.
GUIDELINES:
1. Previously unpublished submissions should be sent via email to magazine.fieryscribereview@gmail.com with the subject line “[CATEGORY] Submission — [Title] — [Name]", e.g., Fiction Submission—God of Small Things—Roy Chika
2. In the body of the email, include a brief cover letter excluding your bio. We only want to see your bio when your work is accepted.
In the cover letter, include your work title, word count, and, if possible, a one-line summary.
3. Attach your submission only as a Word document (.doc or .docx). Your filename must include the title of your submission and the genre, e.g., Personal Essay, Memories of Liquor. (Again, don't include your name.)
4. POETRY — maximum of three (3) poems compiled into a single Word document.
5. PROSE — maximum of 5,000 words for both fiction and nonfiction.
6. Multiple submissions are not allowed. Please wait till you have received a response before submitting another fresh piece.
7. Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but please inform us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
8. Please ensure your work has been thoroughly edited and proofread before submission.
FORMATTING:
- Times New Roman, Arial, or (EB) Garamond, 12-point size.
- Double-space prose submissions. DO NOT INDENT PARAGRAPHS.
- For poetry, follow your intended formatting, and ensure it is clear in the submission. (No PDFs.)
RESPONSE TIME:
- All responses will be sent out within 4 weeks after the submission window closes. Rejections are very likely going out within 4 weeks of submission, while accepted pieces may take longer time. If you don't get a response 4 weeks after submission closes, please send a follow-up email—we are humans and can make mistakes. A follow-up is highly encouraged.

PAYMENT:
- We will pay a flat rate of $10 per submission. Due to limited funding, we are unable to publish many writers this time. To help us remain a paying market, please donate to us (via the black floating DONATE button at the bottom-left area of your screen).
- Works accepted for publication will remain archived on the website indefinitely.
