Yahuza Abdulkadir |
that boy who broke
a bottle of sniper into his mouth
wasn't a coward
he was just tired of romancing
the word "I'm okay"
while shirts of depression
are clothing his blood
tell me — when grief grew
wings on his shoulders —
did you stop them from flying with his body?
he was a sad poem
in the eyes of his readers
but they couldn't see that every line
in the poem came from the stanzas
running in his broken veins
and yesterday he chose to answer
the voices calling him to find rest in
the sands of silence
